Rare Model L114 chandelier, designed by Oreste Vistosi and Peter Peltzel, Vetreria Vistosi Murano, 1960s, mid-century

Rare and elegant Murano glass pendant lamp, model L114, designed by Oreste Vistosi and Peter Peltzel around 1962 and produced by the historic Vetreria Vistosi of Venice in the early 1960s.
A refined example of Mid-Century Modern Italian design, characterised by a sober, essential shape and the extraordinary quality of the Murano glass craftsmanship.
The diffuser is made of fine cased glass, with a magnificent glossy yellow finish on the outside and diffusing white on the inside.
The particular workmanship enhances the purity of the form, producing a warm and pleasantly diffused light.
The creation of the glass is attributed to master Martinuzzi, a craftsman of great importance in the Murano tradition, who also collaborated on the creation of works by artists such as Marc Chagall, Le Corbusier, Henry Moore and Pablo Picasso.
The lamp is in excellent vintage condition. The glass is intact and shows no cracks or chips. The original metal parts show only minor signs of aging, consistent with the item's age, as can be seen in the photographs.
